logo TopicScoop launched a Twitter search service that provides more insights into the search results.

Using TopicScoop is like any other search engine: Enter a keyword(s) into the search box, click Search. Within seconds, TopicScoop analyzes hundreds to thousands of tweets containing your keywords in real-time and extracts the topics people are talking about in these tweets. The topics are shown in the right sidebar. An orange bar in front of each topic indicates its popularity. The taller the bar, the more popular that topic is. What is impressive is that TopicScoop is doing language processing and clustering in real-time.

The topics discovered by TopicScoop enables you to find out in a quick glace what people are talking about on any subject of interest to you. This could save you a lot of time. Now, you do not need to read hundreds or thousands of tweets to find out what people are talking about. A quick glance of the topics tells you that. You can then click on a topic of interest to you to narrow down the tweets to only those that contain both your search keyword and the topic.

A brand may use this service to monitor what people are saying about them. For example, enter “Coca Cola” or “Blackberry” into the search box, right away, you see the topics people are talking about these brands. If there is any topic requires attention, you can click on the topic to drill down and see who are tweeting on the topic. All these without reading through thousands of tweets mentioning the search keyword.
