Youtube Hack: Download Videos in High Definition or High Quality

Tired of downloading your favorite videos from youtube in crappy quality?

Well, Now you can download your favorite videos in HD or HQ.

REQUIREMENTS: Firefox

To download a video in HD follow these below steps:

*Note you must have the  hd button on the bottom right of the video.

1. Go to the Youtube video you want to download, while you’re watching the video just copy the code below and insert it  in the address bar:

javascript:window.location.href = ‘http://youtube.com/get_video?video_id=’ + swfArgs['video_id'] + “&fmt=22″ + “&l=” + swfArgs['l'] + “&sk=” + swfArgs['sk'] + ‘&t=’ + swfArgs['t'];

2. Press enter and save it and the video will be saved in .mp4 format.

(This is tested to work on Firefox only)

To download in High Quality go to the video you want to download but, this time enter this code:

javascript:window.location.href = ‘http://youtube.com/get_video?video_id=’ + swfArgs['video_id'] + “&fmt=18″ + “&l=” + swfArgs['l'] + “&sk=” + swfArgs['sk'] + ‘&fmt_map’ + swfArgs['fmt_map'] + ‘&t=’ + swfArgs['t'];

*Tip- If you download youtube videos often just add the code as a bookmark in firefox and click the bookmark everytime you want to download the video in HD or HQ.

For ex: If you are watching a video that has the  hd button on the bottom right then click the bookmark which has the HD code in it to download while you’re watching it.

    There’s plenty of greasemonkey scripts on userscripts.org to do all this for you.

    1. install firefox
    2. install greasemonkey addon
    3. install youtube scripts at userscripts.com
